Leanne Kept Her Word (Written by Atta)

Daddy was playing badminton with a friend Mr. Jacob from Denmark at the badminton hall downstairs, when she asked to go downstairs to see daddy play.

Shannon: I want go see daddy play.

So Atta had to bring her along, not knowing that she has a motive in going downstairs.

On passing through the mini market to get to the badminton hall, she suddenly pulled Atta’s hand and said:

Shannon: Atta, I want to buy sham-ting (something).

Atta of course had no choice but to bring her in. Had no idea what she wanted.

On entering the shop, she went straight to the shelf displaying smarties (a kind of chocolate sweets) sweet.

She grabbed one box and kept close to her chest.

Atta: Shannon, cannot buy sweet, Mummy will scold.

Shannon: I want, I want. She would not move from the shelf.

Forcing her to leave the mini market would only make her scream. Atta finally gave in and said to her: Atta can buy, but you cannot eat now. Bring home to keep in the fridge.

Shannon: she then smiled and replied Ok

We went home. On reaching home, she went straight to the fridge. She gave the packet of sweet she was carrying to Atta, who placed it (unopened) at the side door. She looked contended, kept her bargain, and went to grandma in the room without asking for the sweet.

An hour later, daddy was about to send his badminton friend out of the Condominium, when she noticed daddy going out. She cried loudly, and screaming away as she was not allowed to follow.

Shannon: I want to follow daddy. I want.

Atta come to the rescue and strike a bargain with her..

Atta: Shannon cannot follow, If you don’t follow, Atta will give you one smarty (sweet)
Shannon suddenly stopped her crying and followed Atta to the fridge. Atta gave her one smarty and she smiled. She finally got her sweet.
