Shannon's Ear

2 Nov 2007

These pictures were taken 3 hours after the operation.

(SIPPING HER VITAGEN BIT BY BIT)
(AN IV TUBE WAS INSERTED IN HER RIGHT VEIN)
(STILL DROWSY)
(SLEEPING SOUNDLY)
(AT 3PM SHE WAS DISCHARGE FROM THE HOSPITAL)
Shannon is scheduled to see Dr. V again on the 6th. He removed an infected cyst in her ear. It was as big a green pea/ kacang kuda! Dr.V said he had cut some bad skin at the ear. The cyst is sent for biopsy and he will let us know the outcome later.

It was a scary experience when the anesthesiologist explained the side effects of the general anesthesia. He said it is safe, but there are possibilities....

Shannon struggled when they put the mask on her face. She cried her lungs out then slept. The doctors told me to step out. After the operation, at the recovery room, she woke up and cried and cried for a good one hour. The nurses said she was still drowsy n needed a familiar voice.

I saw her lips cracked, her side mouth bled and throat very dry. My heart broke. Prayed that God will comfort her. She asked for water but the anesthesiologist said water is only allowed after 3 hours cos she was not fully awake yet.

When she has recovered, she was wheeled back to her room. I was glad she could recognise her grandparents when she saw them. She could even recognise the no.4 in the lift. She was rather lethargic that day, but apart from that, she was fine. Thanks again for lifting her up in your prayers.
